Hello everyone, today I will be reviewing Shatter Me by Tahereh Mafi. I absolutely loved this book and am so glad I finally read it. I think that it is a must-read. I fell in love with the characters from the beginning, and loved the story from the first page. I really liked the writing style and found it to be poetic. If I were you, I would definitely move this to the top of your to-read list if you haven't already!
There are spoilers in the rest of this review.
So, as you can tell, I loved this book. It exceeded my expectations, and I hope you enjoyed it as much as I did. I had very few problems with it, so I will start out with those. One thing that I didn't really like was that I felt like Juliette and Adam's relationship moved really fast. Don't get me wrong, I really like them together, but I think things could of gone slower. To me it just seemed like they had just gotten together, and then they were saying how much they loved each other. But, I still feel like they are really good for each other, and can't wait to see what happens between them in the next books. I have heard some stuff about Unravel Me, but I am determined to stay on Team Adam. (I hope.) I don't know how I could ever switch, I hate Warner. But, I guess I will see what I think after finishing Unravel Me. Other than that, I really don't really have any complaints. One of my favorite things about this book was the writing. Like I said before, it seemed very poetic, and it was beautiful. Tahereh Mafi did a great job keeping the plot interesting and moving forward. From page one I was absorbed in the story.
Now, let's talk about the characters. I really like both Juliette and Adam, I think they are both amazing characters. And if the authors goal was to make me hate Warner, goal accomplished. I thought that what he put Juliette through was so awful. He is making his way up my list of most hated antagonists. But, I think that my favorite character was James. I instantly fell in love with his character, and I hope we see him more in the next books. I honestly don't know what I think about Kenji. I think I will decide in the next book and talk about him in my Unravel Me review. I am really excited about reading the rest of the series, I am starting Unravel Me tonight! What did you think about Shatter Me? I would love to hear your feedback in the comments. Thanks!
